Small, lightweight, colour screen, runs on 2 AA batteries, available in a variety of colours, very cheap to buy (I recommend Gamestation), games cheap
Bad Points
Games no longer in development, no backlight
General Comments
The GameBoy Advance (GBA) was the short-lived follow up to the Game Boy Colour. Unfortunately it had a few setbacks: primarily the lack of backlight, which resulted in many an eyestrain (ouch!). The GBA SP was the next development (and last GameBoy to be released by Nintendo before the release of the DS).
The GBA can be picked up for less than '£15 nowadays, second-hand from games shop and Cash Converter, etc. There are some great quality games still widely available (second-hand), which are inexpensive and, in some cases, very addictive! I'd suggest paying a little more and purchasing a GBA SP console - it's folding hinge pocket design, backlight and rechargeable battery upgrades are well worth the extra money. A great little console for those who can't be bothered with the DS's pricetag and stylus!
