General Comments

At the end of our 14-day Nile Cruise/Red Sea package holiday with Thomas Cook we were given a courtesy room aboard the Semiramis 2 for a few hours. We can only compare what we saw and ate when compared to the MS Teremar on which we stayed for seven days.... and there is no comparison - despite both being managed by the same company Blue Sky Travel.
Semiramis 2 is a much-larger vessel and is inferior in every respect - especially the cabin design and cleanliness. The bathroom towels were grey and rough and the sundeck towels were similarly discoloured (caused by cold washing in dirty water). The Terramar towels by comparison were pristine and soft - yet they were identical towels. It seemed clear to us that each boat must somehow control it's own laundry and, we suspect, their food as well. Whilst we would rate the Terramar as five-star luxury and attentiveness we can only rate the Semiramis 2 as three-star at the most.

We were also given a cabin on the Semiramis on our return to Luxor from the Red Sea. It was interesting to spend a few of hours there; it really made us appreciate the quality of the Terramar all the more.
