MALABAR RANGE Looked great in store and looks great at home. Replaced our entire sitting room furniture (inc 2 Abbey sofas) and dining room table and chairs with Malabar range.
3 deliveries, 2 placed in store with friendly helpful staff arrived when they said it would. The one placed online took nearly 3 months to arrive. 2 deliveries had damaged items. 3 months after delivery noticed beetle holes and dust in MALABAR SIDEBOARD and a week after that noticed flight holes and bore holes in dining chairs (just 2 weeks after delivery). Long (50 mins) and confusing phone call with customer services after visit from a FIRA technician (organised by M&S but independent of them) and they will collect and replace the infested items and have agreed to do the same to any other items which show up in future. They don't know what the beetle is, but told me it only affects mango wood, so the rest of the house should be safe! Time will tell. Will always worry now about remaining items and the new ones when they arrive! No matter how good it looks and how nice the staff in store this furniture has introduced a wood boring beetle to our home.
I would think very hard before buying furniture from M&S again - and had we read Marija's review before (found it during one of my lengthy periods on hold to M&S!) I would never have ordered the Malabar range, no matter how great it looks - would rather have saved all the worry and hassle and inconvenience.
