Variety of skiing for intermediates is very good. The mountain restaurants serve authentic local food - not fast food on a mountain. Apres ski is child friendly, it's not a rowdy resort which suited us.
There are only limited bars in Le Chinaillon if you want a serious session of Apres ski. Lots more in Le Grand-Bornand, but then it's a toss up - do you stay on the slopes or in the main resort?
We've had great times on the 3 weeks skiing we've had there; If we want a change we drive around to la Clusaz.
we stayed with www.bornandgrand.com by the Outalays piste- it was great!
Private lessons are best, particularly in peak weeks.
Le Bournerie is a lovely restaurant with great food if you want to spoil yourself, it's just hard on your legs getting up to the place.
