Absolutely superb location - we could literally ski to the door. No walking around with ski boots/skis. Even the ski/boot hire shop was next door to the hotel, as was the ski lift. If you're a beginner then this isn't the best location for the nursery slopes, you're better off in Hotel Derby which is adjacent to the nursery slopes. The Wellness area is second to none - you book the jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, etc and pretty much have the facilities to yourself. We did it every day and it was such a relaxing end to the day. The restaurant food was great - a 5 course meal each evening and variety of breakfast foods. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day. The owner helpfully arranged our lift passes and picked us up/dropped us off at the bus station in his electric car. The bathrooms were fantastic - brand new, and the rooms very spacious with beautiful view. Dressing gowns/slippers provided which were a nice touch. Only 5 minute walk to the shops/restaurants. Very quiet at night.Extremely good value for money in the expensive resort of Saas-Fee. If I went back there I would definitely stay in Hotel Alpin again. I think we couldn't believe how lucky we were with the facilities. They don't sell themselves enough on their website! Very few bad points, but if I have to list some:-
The evening meal times were somewhat restricted - you had to start your meal between 6.30-7.30pm so we had to eat out if we wanted to partake in an evening activity which clashed with this. The heating in the bedroom was a bit erratic - it suddenly became unbearably hot at around 2am so we had to keep opening windows etc. No bars of soap and the shower gel dispenser didn't work in our bathroom - a very minor point as its not expensive to buy shower gel, but worth bringing with you! Also, don't bring those free sachets of moisturisers etc - I brought them with me to use up over the week and the cleaners assumed that if they had been opened then they were rubbish and threw them away! They could have done something a bit more attractive with the balconies (just concrete) - maybe a plant and some comfy chairs/a table.
