Good Points
0-60 IN 5.4 seconds!!.....177bhp and 388 lb/ft torque!!
Economy of around 40.2-42.0 mpg!!
Plenty of torque and a decent turbo!!

Bad Points
Doesn't sound like an Evo on steroids but has a nice turbo whistle!!
An BP has released BP Extreme diesel!!

General Comments
This car has to be driven to be believed....Its had several mods from chipping,d-valve..etc etc only costing around £1300!

1st gear is really short but 2nd,3rd,4th,5th and 6th last for ever with plenty of torque!!

All it says on the back is 1.9 TDI Quattro and looks completely standard.....

Peeps are always trying to race me but the look on their faces when i pull away from them is priceless!!!!

Are you sure you can fit a dump valve to a tdi engine??
I have driven s chipped Ibiza tdi sport with induction kit and exhaust system which is very similar only a lot lighter and it is really fast but 0-60 in 5.4 I don\'t think so. That\'s basically as fast as a standard nissan skyline r34!

Yes there is a good remap place in Singleton, SSS Remap its called I think.
I'm looking at gettiing the Audi A3 2.0tdi 170hp quattro, the book says that once remapped, it will be delivering 200hp, what do you guys reckon the 0-60 will be on that?

I think your wrong about the 0-60 time, because I raced one the other day in my C230k, and I've only modded mine with a sprint booster/ECU remap and an exhaust totalling just under 240 bhp. He didnt stand a chance to say the least... but I was shocked at how fast he was off the line... still my car does 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds at BEST.

Scoobz, would i be right in assuming you drive an Impretza? If so it figures, you talk of snobbery but it seems apparent to me you hold the usual superior tone of somebody driving a Suburu. An A3 tdi to that spec is quite capable of obtaining those figures and indeed the quttro system is needed more in a diesel to put power down than a petrol due to the extra torque which leads the wheels to loose traction. There is an awful lot of technology in a modern VAG diesel engine, much more I hasten to add than an impretza. Good day.

I don't mean to be offensive but your figures are way out.

The 1.9TDi engine is impressive and when remapped it will indeed manage some staggering performance but it will NOT ever manage a 0-62mph time of under 6.5 seconds (let alone your stated 5.8), even if you had slick tyres and a bone dry drag strip the gearing and low rev limitations prevent diesels from being effective from a standing start. In a petrol version the time would be enhanced by the Quattro system but only because it allows use of the power (via traction) through the rev range up to peak power, with a TDi it is too difficult to obtain a quick shift and get a benefit from the improved traction.

Give the car a rolling start and it is a different story. Then the TDi would really show its colours by having the torque but still it isn't anything spectacular, just rapid.

The Ibiza TDi (160bhp TDi Cupra) will remap exactly the same as the A3 and is in a lighter car, hence it is just as quick.

My Ibiza will run 0-62mph in 6 seconds and the 1/4mile in 14s, then again mine runs on petrol pushing 215bhp and a rev limiter at 7000 rpm not 4.5k...!!
The VAG Diesel engines are very impressive but don't make them out to be 'supercar' performers or enter into the "my car's better than yours" argument like a "1.1 litre Saxo driver", I thought better of a VAG owner, obviously I was wrong and 'snobbery' still exists towards the other brands of the VAG company.

Just power ran my car (4wd rolling road) and its 0-60 is actually 6.6seconds with excellent mid range, its turbo has been set at max boost and has gone at times into limp home mode due to excesive pressure when driven too hard (reason i was saying 5.4 seconds is because it was reaching 60 on my speedo but 66 on the speedo is the true 60mph).
Its got 170Bhp and a little over 270Lb/Ft of torque..So a big sorry for the exaggeration but its still faster than pug 106GTI's, vts's and on par with a standard S3 at least.
Just one more thing i should of added to the negatives about this car is when driven hard thick black diesel smoke comes out as alot more fuel is injected into the engine when lead foot kicks in.

I have just had my Audi A4 1.9tdi Revo'd. They claim 180bhp an 300lb of torque. Performance wise kept up with a automatic shifting 330ci and a 323i was being caught. BUT, I want more power, what can be done in conjunction to boost it nearer 200bhp?

A remap is just a remap, same components, but just told to work in a slightly different way. If your A3 does 0-60 in 5.4 seconds i'll eat my hat, and everyone elses for that matter. It's just not even feasible.

Look i'm not exaggerating in the slightest!!!
Whats the point in that?? I'm not saying i'm going out wooping Evo's F.F.S... It's 0-60 is just under 6 seconds (admittedly its with ESP turned off and screaming the guts out of it).
Like I said before if anyone fancies a trip to middlesbrough then they are welcome to experience the ride?
I wish people would believe...and last but not least do peeps know that each remap varies per car?
Probably not

I take it your A4 is a petrol then?
I have heard that the 330D is probably the quickest and best diesel out there at the moment.
Do you know if it is a five or six cylinder??
I think the 200brake ibiza tdi will probably do 0-60 in 7 or just under that but will still struggle to keep up with the BMW especially if the BMW is chipped but I have heard there is a new Ibiza Tdi coming out this summer with 160bhp out the factory.

I know that that 0-60 claim is massively over exaggerated. Yeah the torque off those is good but nowhere near something like a BMW 330D when chipped and that only manages 6 dead.

I spent over 2.5K with AMD to get my A4 1.8TQS to around 230 BHP and the only diesel it hasn\'t left behind is the 330D!

Ladbroke grove is in West London.. bit of a mission. The seat I believe, is the same engine but very slightly different output. 130bhp & 229 ft pounds of torque as oppsed to 150 & 236 but I think the 150bhp one has slightly more lag when not on boost. I\'m not sure but I think you can buy bigger fuel injectors which will take it up to 150bhp and this is only around £250.

Trust me its had a remap done by Audi tuning specialists AMD and 0-60 is marginally under 6 seconds.
Where are you from your welcome to experience the ride??
A seat tdi isn\'t that quick mate trust me...I\'d guess a 0-60 of around 7 secs after a good remap...If I remember rightly the seat doesnt have much torque does it ....may be wrong but have never took any interest in them before just what i\'ve heard as the Golf is higher on HP but lower on the old torque also.
