Good Points

This is a feminist novel and very empowering to women. Pride and Prejudice also encourages its readers not to be too judgmental about people through Elizabeth's journey.

Bad Points

Charlotte Lucas accepts Mr. Collins's offer of marriage simply for the sake of marrying someone rather than thinking about whether or not she could live with him.

General Comments

Elizabeth Bennet is a sensible woman who sticks to her principles no matter what. She refuses Mr. Collins and Mr. Darcy's offers of marriage even though Mrs. Bennet only wants her five daughters, including Elizabeth, to marry rich men. The reason for refusing both? Simple: She doesn't like either one of them and does not think either of them to be suitable partners.
