Good Points

Good looking, Enough performance to put a smile on your face, and good fuel consumption - 40mpg around town and 50+ on the motorway.

Bad Points

Slightly fiddly heater controls but OK once you get used to them.
Gear stick that refused to spring back to the centre of the box when in neutral. I thought that it was my car at first but I have had three in total now and all have had the same problem. It doesn't affect the gears at all though and can be driven like this for many many miles.

General Comments

I have had 3 Diesel M-jet's and struggle to find anything else that I would consider as an alternative - certainly not a golf or A3 - as the looks and styling make the car a real head-turner with a bit of well needed individuality in todays sterile mass produced world. If you are considering buying one check that ALL of the electrics work and that the book has Alfa dealer stamps in it, NOT 'Joes garage' from down the road - anyone can get a stamp made up. If it weren't for the gearstick issues this car would get a '10' every time. Maybe, when I'm bigger, I might try the 156 estate (Diesel M-jet of course).
