I read this book and used it to repair many VW's. I think John Muir was a great man. His way of thinking and explaining things has followed me my whole life. I bought my first copy of the book in 1972 and I still recite the first two paragraphs in the engine overhaul section when trying to make a point. Please read it. It's been my favorite for all these years. I became a mechanic because of this book and my natural ability. I know John died many years ago, but his spirit and wisdom lives on.
Bad Points
There can be nothing bad to say about John Muir.
General Comments
I strongly reccommend this book to anyone starting out working on VW's. When I was 16 years old I went to Sears every payday and bought a tool. I purchased every tool that John had listed and use them to this day. What I liked most about the book is he would tell you how not to bust your knuckles. He made working on a VW fun!
Read this book for entertainment and to fix your VW.
