Bad Points

Some hesitation when pulling away until the supercharger engages. Sport mode, with DSG gearbox, is too "frantic" around town as gears change abruptly and too frequently, but is good for open roads. Tyre roar is very sensitive to road surfaces and can make the car noisy on motorways but not as bad as the GTi.


General Comments

Regularly returns 35+ mpg and over 40mpg is a possibility if you don't use all of the performance. A great A and B road car as the DSG and high performance make it great fun and a true hot hatch. A better all round option than the GTi as its more economical, has a comfier ride but has close to GTi levels of performance.
