Where to start? Had a non fault claim back in June 2007 where a van pulled out of a junction and came out too wide hitting the side of the car, no one injured and nothing major, but obviously front and rear doors needed replacing. Their approved repairers Bridgend Ford had the car 3 months and returned it with shocking repairs and they even broke accessories on the car, returned it with a huge scratch all along the other side of the car which was nothing to do with the accident and if that wasn't bad enough had messed around with the electrical system leaving me with no incar entertainment. I tried to get this resolved with the garage but they were not interested. Swift Cover had already paid them. I contacted Swift cover and reported the faults, they were sympathetic on the phone to me and promised to investigate and get back to me. No one got back to me so i called again, yet again i was apologised to and told someone will get back to me. I never heard from anyone. So i sent them an email explaining all the issues. I never had a reply, so i sent another email, still no reply. I sent 12 emails all without so much as a reply and i made 10 telephone calls having to explain every fault on the car to then be told sorry we will get someone to look into it. over 2 months had gone by in the time of all these emails and telephone calls i made and still not a single thing from Swift Cover. So i made another telephone call and told them if i don not get a resolution on this telephone conversation my next contact will be to my solicitors. I then got to speak to their manager who again apologised and promised me something would be done. I told her i had already heard this 10 times in the last 3 months and nothing has changed. She promised to call me by 10am the next day, she did and told me that someone will be contacting me in the next 3 days to arrange for one of thier own engineers to look at the car. He came down and saw for himself exactly what was wrong. To his credit he made a call to the senior engineer and told them it was a mess and needed a lot of rectifying. The bodge job that Bridgend for did on the door and seal replacement was sorted out but still to this day as of 21st Feb 2008 i have a car with major electrical problems and Swift Cover dragging their feet, to add insult to injury they have now said i can't have a replacement car as mine is taking so long to sort out. As if i am enjoying my car being in some garage or another for the last 8 months. If that wasn't bad enough, when my car was returned "repaired" it broke down on me AGAIN i called the AA who sent one of their contractors out who parked his lorry in front of my car while we were on a hill and never applied his handbrake. The lorry rolled back and smash straight into the front of my car. I then had to pay up another excess payment. I am still waiting for both payments to be refunded to this day. I would strongly advise anyone looking for insurance to not be tempted by swift cover low premiums. I would pay double for my premium next time if it means i don't have to use Swift Cover. They are without any doubt the most incompetent insurance company i have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. Never again will i go anywhere near them, even if the premium was free, that's how bad they are.
