Exciting menu with a lot of local and Scottish produce. All of the wine list is organic. Always impressed with their daily specials which offer some interesting alternatives to the set menu. The homemade desserts are amazing.
Having to wait for a table.
Staff can not be as attentive when the place is packed.
A favourite place to eat in Edinburgh, I visit at least once a fortnight and am always impressed with the food and service. The eating areas are stylish and fresh despite being in a basement premises, the main problem is the size of the place, which fills up quickly and can mean waiting for a table when it is busy (which is often), I have ruled out going on a Saturday lunchtime altogether.
The use of local produce is apparent throughout the menu and whilst being more expensive than other establishments in the area, you are clearly aware your money is being spend on well sourced, good produce.
