Good Points

vivid screen, amazing poly tones, stunning looks, easy to hold & very light.

Bad Points

none (yet) could be lack of accessories as the phone is new to the market, seeking RS232/usb data cable.

General Comments

This Samsung SGH E-400 phone was purchased from Virgin Mobile Direct, ordered online Saturday 6 Dec 2003 @ 19:00, delivered Sunday 7 Dec 2003 @ 11:30....AMAZING....!

The phone came with 2 batteries (one slim one fat), this phone is excellent no bad points the polyphonic tones are crisp, sharp and loud (although not as loud as the c100).

Buy and enjoy.....!

I can't agree with your comments on this appalling phone. Yes, the ringtones ARE clear and crisp, but they're awful and have been around since Noah used his old T100 to tell everyone it looked like rain! Who really wants to listen to birds twittering, horse and cat sounds or the awful cat's dance! I know you can download new one's BUT that usually costs money. The ringtones on the C100 are much better and more up to date. And what have Samsung done to the T9 predictive texting? It's the pits! Unless you text in upper case all the time you have to manually change between upper and lower for every new sentence, AND (contrary to the Samsung-Fun website description of the E400) the software can not learn new words! Again, even the old T100 could have new words added to its dictionary. There is very little memory in the phone for texts, no voice dialling or recording facility and the WAP is very slow compared to many current handsets. Apart from a few minor irritations, for my money the A800 is still one of Samsungs best phones. But as for the E400, it goes the same way as the S300/S300M.....back to the shop!
Try spending just £149 on the new Motorola V300 and compare IT with the E400. You'll see what I mean!
