Pupmeister's review of Premier Revolution Series Marching Drums

“I've just started using the new "Revolution Series"...”

★★★★★

Good Points
Fantastic sound and build quality.

Bad Points
Shot drum on tenors secured by small wing nut type fixing which occasionally comes loose causing a slight instability to the drum.

General Comments
I've just started using the new "Revolution Series" marching drums by Premier in readiness for the 2008 season and quite simply they have blown me away! The build quality far exceeds Premiers'previous offerings and all the drums, snares, basses and tenors have the sound and looks "to die for". The drums we are using are finished in Premiers' Ebony Black Lacquer and the finish is flawless to say the least. The drums look almost "liquid" due to the depth of lacquer and this finish carries through to the inside of the shell which produces a fantastic tone and superior projection. I really wish i could find some fault with these drums but I can't, not really. Although if I had to pick up on anything it would be the "shot drum" on the tenors. These drums are attached to the carrier rail by an adjustable riser, which, whilst giving the player adjustment capabilities to lower or raise the level of the playing surface, do, in my opinion, raise concerns as to the stability of this drum. As I have mentioned, the drum is secured via a wing nut type fixing which does have a tendency to vibrate loose on occasions. This said however, only time will tell if this becomes an issue.
