General Comments

This was my first digital camera. At the beginning the Kodak CX4230 worked fine except outside in cold weather where it did not work at all. Then as it was nearing the end of it's warranty period it began to shut off or would not turn on while I tried to take pictures. The lens cover would not close properly cuasing the camera to not shut down properly thereby wearing down the batteries. When I contacted Kodak for repair information they got the information to me so late the camera was out of warranty and would require a minimum cost of $35 to repair. This camera also uses a Kodak rechargeable battery and charger which added to the cost. I also purchased additional memory because I wanted to be able to take more than 50 pictures. So I now have over $300+ worth of junk if I don't spend my money to have it repaired. I do not recommend this camera for anyone.

This is the exact same thing that happened to my CX 4230 camera. I found out it would cost $110 to repair it without the warrantee and I am looking for a different camera now. :-(

This review is a bit over the top. My experience after two years of use is that the camera works quite well except that almost all pictures are underexposed and require editing, which is easily done in the Easyshare software.

Wifes CX4230 suffers battery low life and on of switch instablity problems- in short its a lemon! Age of product = 3 years - has any one taken one apart to see if its a simple thing like a bad solder joint?
