Excellent updates on progress via SMS
Excellent free support
Simple online ordering
None so far
I had been with AOL for 7 years without any problems but was not happy at the cost 14.99 per month for the slow speed that I was getting (795 Kbps download, 234 Kbps upload) I live 3.1km away from my exchange so was not surprised at this speed despite AOL telling me I was getting 2000 Kbps download for free.
I requested a MAC code via phone conversation to AOL and to my surprise I received it the same night (very surprised at this) I applied online for an 02 broadband package at 7.50 per month due to my wife being an 02 pay monthly customer on 7th Feb, taking advantage of the reduced rate. I was kept informed of the progress of my order at every stage via SMS, everything they said happened on the day they said it would, including delivery of my free router on 15th Feb, my BT line was activated on 18th Feb and I was advised of this by SMS. I set up my new account the same night (tonight) along with 3 other family member accounts. Setting up the router could not have been easier using the disc supplied, only had to input the WEP code manually due to not using an 02 supported wireless adapter but despite this it was simplicity itself, hooked up 3 laptops wirelessly to 02 in 20 minutes. Everything is running brilliantly and whats more my speeds have increased above and beyond what I was hoping
(3165 Kbps download, 640 Kbps upload) this is 3 times as quick along the same BT phone line. The only thing I am thinking is why I did not change to 02 earlier. If this increase in speed is what most people can expect then come and join, I am very impressed. All the support is free and UK based, You can have emails sent to your 02 phone free and there is currently a 100 day money back guarantee if you are not happy. I have not had the service drop out on me at all unlike AOL and even my signal strength within the house has increased using identical equipment.
