General Comments

I spent about £1200 for lessons and unfortunately failed last week.
Looking back at my driving experience with BSM, I have come to conclusion that the problem lies in great extent on the instructor side. Rather than repeating the manoeuvres which I knew quite well we should have focused more on difficult areas such as roundabouts. I had an impression that my instructor was just too afraid to do that. I am not pretending to be fabulous driver (that's why I failed after all) yet I would expect a better quality of training especially that I paid quite a lot of money.
The big mistake are 2 hour lessons - after first hour I was usually very tired, yet the BSM policy is to do 2 hours instead of for example 1.5 hour.
I would like to mention that we didn't drive much in the test area- and I realised that I didn't know some tricky roads. One can say that if you can drive, this should not be a problem, but I believe my instructor would want me to pass, rather than count on booking more lessons.
BSM instructors tend to pick students from their addresses- and this is a great idea provided you live in the area of the test centre. Otherwise you are wasting valuable time on driving to the test centre - and on the day of the exam they expect you to book 3 hours. My advice is now: pick a test centre take a train and arrange with local school to pick you from the station.
Last thing I should probably mention is the complete lack of interest from the BSM about my exam. I didn't get a call either from BSM or the instructor about my plans. If they did I would have probably decided to book a few lessons since I know their cars etc. Now I will go for a cheaper option - I can't believe it can be much worse.
