General Comments

Shaped like a handheld sega or gameboy, the Nokia 3300 has some great features. a full mp3 player (including an equalizer), a radio, and built in recorder. even if you don't have a computer, you can still record directly from cd players etc via an adapter. much of the features like colour screen, changeable facias et al are on the 7210, and the games you can get are usually compatible on both phones, so my upgrade between the two was not as painful as i had predicted. backing up games/applications, ringtones and mp3's won't be a problem, but images are not compatible. so what this phone needs is an application which allows files to be data transferred directly to/from the internal memory (you should be given the choice of destination/source be it the mmc card or internal memory. there is a rumour that nokia may be releasing a camera attachment for the 3300 next year, so i'm keeping my eyes peeled. using the phone is easy, it's software/operating system is not in anyway different from my ex-7210. i prefer the 3300 over the n-gage for two reasons: 1) the 3300 is smaller and can be held as you would a 7210 to make a call, the n-gage is awkward as the speaker is on the thin back plate (2) who wants to pay £30 for a game and disable the mp3? not me. the 3300 isn't brilliant, but it's not rubbish either. for the most part, it does the job for me.
