Good Points

Build quality, reliability, Handling, brakes, Acceleration, touring capability with comfort. Economical, weather protection, storage.
Top speed (for a scooter) 110+ mph ....(100+ up a long incline).

Bad Points

Economy is lost once you get above 80+ 35mpg below 80 (58mpg
Can be expensive to keep if you don't service the bike yourself and end up paying a dealer every time oil or filters etc. need to be dealt with when covering lots of miles.

General Comments

I have had quite a few bikes/scooters of different makes ranging from ordinary to crazy (Diblasi/Italjet dragster 180/Formular 125/Yamaha 500LC 2 stroke/Ducati 900 monster/Kawasaki ZZR1100/Vmax 1200s etc. This bike is not the fastest by far but...It has the best combination for a real world biking with comfort with an ability to keep up and or sometimes out pace a lot of bigger bikes because of the handling and twist and go effect. One last thing I think that really helps with this bike is the fact that the engine and transmission are designed so it has a built in centrifugal wet plate clutch which gives genuine good engine braking when coming off the throttle so when throttling up it comes in smoothly like a normal scooter but with decelerating only disconnect (Free wheels) when the engine winds down to about 1000 rpm. The affect of this means that my bike is still on it's second set of brake pads and just started on it's third set of tires with 55000 miles on it! (Engine still lovely and quiet).

Can't be bad that you are stilled chuffed with the bike after 55000 miles. I am finding it tough to choose between the T-Max and the 650 Burgman.

I found this review helpful because... I am thinking of changing my 2002 Piaggio X9 500 for a new mega scooter
