Multi function,
Not good network support. Driver bloated.
The first thing to point out about this printer is that it is not a commercial network printer. I inherited 4 when I took on a new job and I wish they had never bought them in the first place. HP do not provide any drivers for any server software, therefore they are only usable in a workgroup setting if you want to get the whole functionality. As with similar models, setting it up in the network must be something of a black art. If the gods are shining on you and the wind is in the right direction and the computer is oriented on the correct magnetic lines you might just be able to get it to find the printer. My advice, use USB. For the more technical, it appears to use netbios or similar broadcast to locate the printer and then when it has the IP address, creates an entry in your hosts file and installs the network port by name not IP address. Which means you're screwed if the printer picks up another IP address. To be fair to it though we are using them in a way that they really didn't intend. On the plus side, the print quality is good and is fairly quick to print. The double sided attachment is really useful. However, they do appear to drink the ink at a rate of knots and it has a single tri colour cartridge. Overall a reasonable home office all in one.
