General Comments

Although the AA are a brokerage it is actually cheaper to get insurance with them than going direct. I was with Churchill and received a renewal premium that seemed reasonable as it included a customer loyalty discount. I decided to shop around to compare prices anyway and went to the AA. They did get me a cheaper insurance premium but ...... it was with Churchill !!!!

It is cheaper to join as a new customer with brokers taking a cut than it is to go direct with a "loyalty" discount - CRAZY.

Yes,by insuring through the AA you may get a good price. I have used them on several occasions but have found that problems arise on renewal. On every renewal you are sent a renewal quote. Usually it will say something like "Unfortunately this policy is no longer available from your current Insurance company so we have based your quotation on the nearest available". This new quote is at a greatly increased price. If you are wise you will shop around again, even requesting a new quote from the AA can save you a lot of money at this time as they can miraculessly find other companies offering the same cover for less.
If like me you find ringing round brokers or Insurance Companies every year too much hassle I would steer clear of the AA and go for a more stable approach with a Insurance company. I would recommend Liverpool Victoria. I have now been with them for at least 5 continueous years and have seen very little increase in my premiums during that time. I currently pay £22.00 a month for protected fully comp on a Toyota RAV 4.

I agree with this review because...i phoned norich union and was quated £950 pounds fully comp bmw 320d 02reg and then i phoned AA and was quated £640 for the same level of cover and thats the AA going through a broker so going direct is diffently more money
