Poor communications, ridiculous get-out clauses
'Free courtesy car' screams all the literature. Yeah, IF they decide to repair your car. IF you use their 'approved' repairer. IF one is available. And ONLY while it is being repaired, not while you are being mucked about for days on end prior to getting the repair done - if you can get one done. So all that adds up to NO COURTESY CAR. As the repairers only want to make a load of money they will make up a quote for repair that is 4 or 5 times higher than it needs to be - end result, if it's an older car, CIS will write it off and give you a paltry amount for what they think it was worth (usually 1/2 what it costs to buy the exact same model in the same condition).
