build quality is very high, with a good solid feeling when handling its large hand grip
the shutter seems to make quite a loud clunk as it fires. and some of the interchangable focusing screens make it hard to judge sharpness thru out the viewfinder.
The overall build quality of the Minolta 600si is very high, it gives you a feeling of a solid camera able to take some hard knocks.
the focusing is not as fast as the canon or nikons of the same class, but it moves quite quickly for all that.
it only has one focusing point, but that can be adjusted on the camera back for a single object or put on to a wide focusing area for larger groups etc.the screen is good to see objects in low light and for people who wear glasses.
the control knob is big and easy to use a,s,m and programme are all togeather at a turn of dial.no button and switch pushing needed.
most of the major controls are on the top or back of the camera so it makes it easy to use and change the settings.
as i said above my camera makes a loudish click when the shutter fires,it might just be my version.as i brought it second hand to go with my 7000i body.
some of the older sigma lenses with not work with it as minolta changed the cameras chips as sigma wouldn't pay them the royalities that they wanted.
but overall an excellent camera.
