Cannot think of one apart from the fact that the plane stayed in the air
Being my first time to America we booked American airlines because of the reputation for good customer service. What a mistake. Being a somewhat nervous flyer my trip to New York was not made a comfortable one merely due to the rudeness of the cabin crew. I could not believe how the staff would talk very loudly and openly about the customers on the flight and their dislike for them. When we asked for a visa we were told that we should of been given one and we must of lost it (we hadn't) and that all they had left were Japanese visas and it would be fine. It wasn't.!!
As for the food, I had ordered a vegetarian meal which was fine until the second service when I was given exactly the same meal despite that the other option was a cheese and tomatoe pizza. When I left mine I was simply tutted at and given a foul stare. Another vegetarian dared to complain and was complained about very loudly between the staff. On the return flight there was not even a second service for the vegetarians leaving us hungry while the meat eaters enjoyed their ham sandwhiches!!!!
To make matters worse, yes they got worse, the inflight televisions kept constantly cutting out which meant that halfway through any film it would switch itself off and go back to the beginning. We did not manange to watch one film on an eight hour flight. We recieved no apology from any of the staff which at this point I was not surprised about. I would never recommend this airline.
The flight returning to London had much better cabin crew who were friendly and polite whereas the flight to New York consisted of rude, abnoxious and unhelpful staff. If you chose the vegetarian option for food you were either forgotten about and received nothing or given the same meal twice. The inflight entertainment constantly broke on the filght to New York was fine on the way home. Would NEVER recommend this airline to anybody.
