“What kind of range would you estimate it can give, say...”

What kind of range would you estimate it can give, say using the .38" steel shot at a 45 degree angle of fire ?

Also, when you pull the sling back, it's easy for a long way, then you come to the end of the easy stretch. Is it safe to strain it past that point for extra range, or is that unwise ?
