General Comments

I recently stayed in a studio apartment situated in one of the annexes. Side "A" overlooks a garden area then over to the sea, whilst Side "B" overlooks the pool, and then the sea. There are better views from side "B" as the trees in the garden area plus a restaurant on the promenade are situated between the rooms and the sea; however I still had a nice view and enjoyed watching the ferries motor in and out of the harbour. There are several different receptionists; some are friendlier than others! The personal safe located in each room costs 10 Euros per week (or part of week) plus a 10 Euro deposit. I found my studio and bathroom was very clean and spacious. The kitchen is is a little small, but it has a big fridge and is adequate enough to prepare simple meals. Whilst there for 12 nights, I had my towels changed every second day, the bed was changed twice, and the bins were emptied every day except for 3 random days. My bed was only "made" once other than when the sheets were changed, however perhaps I left it neat enough every morning that it looked "made". I saw only two cockroaches the entire time I was there, once after heavy rain when I had left the balcony door open, and I found it high up on one of the ceilings, and the other was one morning a dead one on its back in the bathroom. I suspect that if you take care to keep traces of food/crumbs/etc away i.e. clean up after your meals, there will be less of them appearing. Tenerife is a warm country, that's why we go there, so cockroaches are part of normal everyday life. They don't bite, so don't let them ruin your holiday! As others have stated in other reviews elsewhere, there are ample shops and restaurants within walking distance. There is also a taxi rank and a telephone box right outside, along with a "telephone cabinet" where you have your conversation first and then get charged by a girl at the till afterwards. You can see the length of call and the current charge during the conversation so there's no shock at the till and it avoids having to save up coins for a call box. Also the girl at the till can help if you are having problems getting connected. The new shopping/office complex along from the Comodoro (exit right and it's the first big building on the right that you come to) has an internet shop upstairs which charges 1 Euro for 30 mins access. I thought this was reasonable, and a cheaper way to keep in touch than calling. All in all, the accommodation was one star, so it was cheap, but perfectly adequate. If you want luxury, you wouldn't be booking a one star self catering place in the first place after all! I went to Tenerife for the beach and the sun (although I used the pool too and it was lovely) and I would definitely come back to this accommodation again.
