* Powerful hotrodd
* High Capacity
* A TRUE semi-auto
* Life size Replica of the Magnum Research .357 Magnum Desert Eagle MARK I
* Poor Trigger Pull
* Finikey feeding system
* Cheap construction
* Loose Grip
A unique airgun. It has been in and out of production twice. First as the Powerline 400 and then the 400GX. The only difference between the 400 and 400GX is the 400GX has A synthetic Gold plated plastic frame and does not have the Daisy symbol on the grip while the 400 does.
The airgun uses A 20 shot removable magazine. 21 bbs can be loaded but not recommended.
This airgun is powerful. I use to shoot holes through mayonnaise jars with it and the bb went through so fast that it just blew holes through the jar without shattering.
The airguns action is unique. It is A single action but when you fire the airgun, the slide requoils automatically and cocks the hammer just like on the real Desert Eagle.
Surprisingly, the power is very high for A Co2 pistol with about 10-15 shots more per Co2 then what you can expect from most Crosman airguns.
The quality is like that of any common Daisy powerline airpistol. Just simple plastic construction that you wouldn't want to bang around to much.
The only true negative side is the trigger and feeding system which are truly well connected.
if you pull the trigger while the hammer is in, it will release A bb which will slide down the barrel and fall out on to the ground or wherever. While it sounds ideal for A quick way to unload the magazine, it also means that gradual trigger pulling while aiming will cause the bb to slide down the barrel resulting in dry fire or low powered shot.
In addition, the trigger pull is very creaky. Not to tough but creaky. Fortunately, the accuracy is workable. After about 200 shots, I was able to get 1 inch groups with it at 10 yards and hit soda cans at 30 yards without much trouble.
For replica fanatics, this may be A dream come true since it's A life size replica of the Magnum Research Desert Eagle MARK I. I have herd people say that it's underscaled while others argued otherwise. After I got my .44 Magnum Desert Eagle MARK VII, I sat it next to A Powerline 400GX and they turned out to be the same size, just A little different in shape.
I use to know A Desert Eagle owner who used A Powerline 400 as A trainer.
Unfortunately, their no longer made but if you can find one, their A very fun recreational plinker and may even be useful for small game hunting.
I rate the value for mony as "8" because their are better things out their for your buck overall and "7" for overall rateing because for it's class/level, it's high average.
