Good licensing model, Simple to use. Lightweight remote control app
After many years of using PCAnywhere (PCA), I was a bit sceptical about DameWare when I was asked to look at it. However, it didn't take long before I was convinced. DameWare NT Utilities is a complete Windows administration package that contains all of the common support tools that you require in one place. Included with it (Although you can purchase it separately) is DameWare Mini Remote a light weight and fully functional Remote control software that to my mind blows PCA away. I found that PCA had become quite bloated, if you wanted to install it remotely you might as well make a cup of tea and come back later. DameWare mini Remote is much faster and more reliable. I lost count of the times I had to restart the PCA service because it had stopped respoding. No such problems with DameWare.
Then we come to the cost. The beauty of DameWare comes in it's licensing model. You only need to purchase the license for the control PC not the host. You could administer thousands of PCs from one desktop and only buy one license. A great product.
