General Comments

I took a huge risk... I had enough budget to buy 1210's and after learning on techs it seemed the natural choice but I had seen loads on forums about the Stanton Magnetics ST-100 S shape arm and it had caught my eye too, in dj mags etc and had earned some great reviews in the last year or so as well. So, I found them online and got a great price with a Numark dxm o6 effects mixer (awesome too, btw!). I've had them playing for about 10 hrs total now and, you know when a deck has either got the "wow" factor or not...and this HAS, in heaps too :) The sound quality is getting better by the minute as it all beds in, awesome now, at least as good as the techs even with my basic 500AL-11 carts. The 'S' tonearm is good. Torque is good, response is well up there too. Key correction IS v.usefull, although digi-out is best for this function I've been told. (I dont need really need 25% pitch but have done some cool effects using this with key correction whilst messing about) The reason I had such a hard time choosing between these and 1210's is because of the quoted wow and flutter figures (<0.2%) which is higher than the techs (<0.02%) This worried me to the point of sleepless nights sweating over wether 2 min beat mixes would hold and therefore, should I buy the techs as I know that they are bulletproof. Fact is, I have corrected (using the manual +/-6% pitch bend) and adjusted the pitch once only in a two minute blend. That aint so hard is it??? Look at all the other features and combined with a good mixer you will not be heartbroken, believe me (I wanted 1200/12100's for 15years) I know!!!
Truth is 1210's ARE awesome, no doubt...BUT so are the stantons, and they look great too, even my wife loves em, so there ya go!
