Easy to use, very cheap, great quality, great selection, bonus program, affilate program, NO DRM!
Slow downloads, new music and requests are slow to get on, support is a quite poor in my opinion, might not have lesser known artists, I put high fixed amounts in at a time.
I have used Legal Sounds for the last 8 months, and I am very impressed. Songs are .09, allowing you to buy an entire album for less than an iTunes song. It is very easy to get around with the Legal Sounds Downloader. They have many artists that iTunes does not have, and they have albums that iTunes doesn't have for many artists. They have a bonus program where they give you a lot of free songs for putting in certain amounts of money, details of which are on their website. But for .09 a song, you cannot expect much more than the song. The support is a true joke. You can only email them, but they do get back to you by the next day. One time I asked them a question about their own program, and (get this) they told me to Google it! I emailed them immediately afterward, and the next day, I got another email telling me to Google it! Pretty much, the support does not know their own program. New music is very slow to get on, it could take close to a year for newly released music to get on the site. They do accept requests, but, like the new music, they are also slow to get on in my opinion. As much as their selection is great, they might have your lesser known, independent guys. They also don't have some well known guys, such as Slick Rick, Janes Addiction, and Minor Threat, yet those are the only 3 well known guys I have found so far that they do not have. One negative points I have about Legal Sounds is that you are only allowed to put in either $25, $39, $50, and $100 into your account at a time. Those are the only 4 choices. But that opens you up to 277, 433, 555, and 1111 songs, so there is some good part to that. Overall, despite the cons, Legal Sounds is the best downloading service I have ever used. I have used Limewire before and I feel a lot better about buying my songs for such a low cost because these files do not have viruses and you know that you are getting the true file. I highly recommend this program to anyone that wants out of Apple's infamous iTunes trap.
