General Comments

I was looking for a combi 15" LCD TV with Freeview and DVD. There is limited choice with 'bottom end' manufacturers only in the market place. Argos appeared to have the best spec model with the Bush IDLCD15W16DHD at £229.99. Having purchased this model and set it up I was completely dismayed by every aspect of this widescreen unit. Firstly the base/stand had no weight and looked very cheap. The angle of adjustment of the base was very poor. On turning the TV on the response time was very slow but worst of all was the limited viewing angle - anything off centre or below meant a completely lost picture. The sound was very thin - no base whatsoever and only adjustable in analogue. The process of selecting an alternative AV input was unnecessarily complicated, but worst of all is the completely hopeless EPG - have they not seen Sony?. The EPG only gives programme information for the channel you are on, and then only the current and following programme. The DVD played OK but made an awful grinding noise when selected from the remote. I cannot think of anything good to say about this TV, it is a pity that Argos does not set-up a display model to save wasting our time - or perhaps they know how poor it is and avoid demonstrating? Unfortunately if you are looking for a decent 15" widescreen combi with Freeview, I cannot recommend one. Until the likes of Sony, LG or Panasonic produce one then they are not worth buying. The Bush will be returned for a refund under the 30 day money back offer - it is only fit for the skip! Please, Please, if you are thinking of buying one - don't, you may regret it, as I have.

I found this review very helpful because...If i had read this I would not of purchased one from a site on ebay.

Luckly, they have agreed to a refund and i'm buying a samsung 19" hd without the cd player, but a much higher spec.

Ok it's a few quid more but who wants to look at a rubbish quality picture and poor sound.
