Everything about Halifax!!
Well! where do I start with Halifax??
I have 2 accounts with Halifax at the moment. One where i pay my bills and the others for myself. Recently I became 3 pounds overdrawn. So they charged me 30.00!!! Then they said they were going to charge me 28.00 because I was overdrawn in that particular month! I refused! Then they sent me a letter to say that my account had gone to head office arrears so I gave them a call and thought to myself i must have landed on the worst unprofessional woman working that day! Just my luck! Anyway, i explained everything to her and she basically said that there was no other option for me and i had to pay!! and because i hadn't paid the 28.00 i had now incurred extra charges amounting to 134.00!!! What??!! I couldn't afford that much money!! so she said ok ill put a stop on your account and you will have to go to your local branch to sort this out. Fair enough, i went and they said it was out of their hands now, there was nothing they could do! what a waste of my time!! While i was there i needed to get money out as my bills were due so i put my card in the machine and it ate it!!! this was for my other account??!! so i went back in and they said that BOTH my accounts have been frozen until i pay these charges in full!! my bills were due to come out the next day!! They gave me NO choice but to pay the full 134.00!! i was so mad!! i have now received a letter to say that they have taken my overdraft away and need to pay 192.00 immediately!!! what??!! so i phoned them up again and the lady told me to go into my local branch and ask them to apply for another one. so i did today... the branch told me there was nothing they could do as it had been sent to head office arrears AGAIN! yet more of my time wasted!! However this time they called head office and let me speak to them to see if they could help me out. But no!!! i had the most unprofessionally male speaking to me! Mocking me!! saying that if I didn't pay them 60.00 a month to clear this overdraft, they would take the whole 192.00 the day after i get paid!!! Now you tell me! What kind of people are they at Halifax?! I WILL be closing my accounts and hopefully reclaiming the last 6 years worth of bank charges!
