Good Points
Can talk to an operator and they can sometimes work out where you want to go if you are unsure of full details. Apparently will even book accomodation for you then give you a route to the hotel.
Bad Points
Mapping for Northern Ireland very poor, often seems to think that the road I am on goes through the middle of a field. Expensive when compared to the price of portable sat nav these days.
General Comments
The Smartnav sat nav unit came in my Rover 75 as standard and I am glad I did not pay for it. Pretty useless in Northern Ireland due to poor and out of date mapping. Not tried it in England so may be better there. Seems to get itself lost a lot and always recalculating the route. I live out in the sticks and it doesn't seem to have many of the roads I drive on in the right place in its mapping so seems to want me to drive through fields to stay on route at times. Not having a screen I find it very hard to follow the voice directions in town, especially at complex junctions. Often says I have arrived at my destination when I am still a couple of miles away. Have taken the pay as you go option in case I ever need to use it, but have pretty much given up on it.
