Where to start!! Out of all the books I've ever read, i have never felt so connected to a set of characters in a book before. The pain I felt at the and when Akkarin died was unreal, i actually cried and not many books do that to me.
I enjoyed the style in which the book was generally written, creating numerous adventures that all coincide with each others is a fantastic writing style.
Also the way the book went into such vivid detail was amazing and how she captured the way magic was drawn upon, like wen looking into your own mind, you could see how the characters were drawing the power out, like you could visualise it, you could even feel it!
Some clever little aspects to the book, E.g. the blood gems and the fact that it relates to real life issues such a homosexuality not being accepted in a fantasy book culture, as it is not openly accepted in society! The list is endless in the category....
Bad Points
The ending was amazing, but it has made me feel a bit empty as it ended on such a remorseful scene, as she is glad she is having a baby, the grief of losing her love is over whelming and therefore does not inspire joy into the pregancy!Although this is not necessarily a bad thing, when i closed the book, i felt lost!
Also, the remaing magicians and state should have been a bit more thankful towards her as she did just save them all and loose here love doing so!

The whole point of a review in my opinion is to inform someone as to whether or not a book is worth reading - not to give away major plot spoilers!!!! If you are going to give away spoilers then it would be helpful to telegraph this as the start of your review before someone reads it and realises that the books have been spoiled for them.
