Good Points
Uses Zip 100 and 250 discs
Bad Points
Parallel port slower than USB
General Comments
I tried USB version and the Parallel port version of this suberb and popular backup device and there is a reasonable difference in speed, if you have a scanned plugged in then thin of the hassles disconnecting the zip drive evry time you want to scan. Printing is ok though with the zip connected. It ships with a proggie called the port accellaerator I saw little difference in speed there. This is one of thoes devices you just have to leave to gets its job done at the end of the day, dont try to work whilst you are backing up because the mouse goes sooo slowly!
It works and works well, nice little surprises come on its cd, good size for portability and Guest (on cd) lets you quickly use on someone elses pc.
Simple no nonsense backups and no corruptions thus far.
Backing up needs reliability and this is it in a box.

Would strongly disagree with the view that Zip drives are reliable. You only need to search for "Click Of Death" on Google and many articles come up about the lawsuit that was filed against Iomega because massive numbers of the drives started destroying the disks that were used in them. This is not something I would call reliable by any means.
