Good Points
Multi-region ability, DVD-R playback, MP3 playback from DVD-R or CD-R, plenty of audio out options and slim.
Bad Points
MP3 playback occasionally hangs the machine, needing a manual power-off and on. Does this even more in FF/RW on a MP3 disk. Movie playback is sometimes a little jerky on action shots.
General Comments
Despite the bad points, the Daewoo 9000S5 is a thumpingly good value machine - I paid £39 for it and it is certainly worth every penny.
It is fast to load and play disks and, for MP3 DVD/CDs, the menu structure is intuitative.
Shame they don't do it in black!

Hi debauch, thanks for the review - where did you find it for £39?

I should say that I paid £39 plus VAT, from scan.co.uk.

One other thing - for multi-region use, you need the hack:

Power On DVD player
Press Setup
Press 1,3,7,9,8,8,8,8
A new button called Version will now appear in the Setup window
Press Down until you come to Version
Press Play
Press Up or Down to select the required region. Choices are from 0 to 6
Press Setup
