lowflyer's review of Suzuki GSXR 1000

★★★★☆

“The Suzuki GSXR is my first big bike, rode it for 2000...”

Good Points
Killer looks, specially the orange/Black colour, the bike stands out in a crowd.
the K7 R1 gives it stiff competion.

Bad Points
The brakes need a little more bite, and in turns the rear does not give so much confidence as expected.the bike heats up fast in Mumbai trafic (guess they all do),and fuel milage is horrifically low, one trip to Lonavala and the fuel light flashes! Thats about 160 kms on 10 liters of fuel.

General Comments
The Suzuki GSXR is my first big bike, rode it for 2000 kms, so please excuse my limited review.
It soulds great when accelerating, people 500 meters away will move aside when you start, but don't take your wife along, wrists will ache and neck will hurt after a while.
The smile it puts on my face is not easy to wipe, its an amazing bike.too fast for mumbai streets any way, wheelies happen at 80 kmph, in 1st gear, whack open the throttle at 80 and up goes your wheel, the thrill is great.
The fit and finish is good too, the paint gets scratched easily, and so do the wheels with small pebbels/debris from the street. Engine is flawless through the rev range.
Buy it because of the smooth power delivery. Unlike the R1 it will not lurch forward.
I like it a lot though.
ride safe.
