A real no-nonsense 4WD. Exceptional off road ability...the 'Troopie' has a 'soul'.
Asthmatic when climbing hills. Ain't the most luxurious vehicle on the market (but hey, you don't want to get the CD stacker wet when fording rivers, do you?
The 'Troopie' is how 4WD should all be...they are rugged and designed for true 4WD'ing. If you want to impress the silver tails with all the mod cons such as cup holders, satellite navigation, leather seats et al...don't waste your time or your ego. The 'Troopie' has a very reliable naturally aspirated diesel engine. It has superiour low down torque and engine braking. With a set of air operated locking diffs fitted, there ain't many places they won't go. Being a Toyota, getting spare parts (if you ever need them!) aren't a problem. With a 3500kg towing capacity and oodles of storage space, you can load her up and go on an extended trip in the bush. With twin 90 litre tanks the Troopie can get you pretty much anywhere and not die of thirts. What can I say, I love the old girl!
