Good Points

My two kids, both love Club Penguin, I visited the site before letting them join as the internet is not always the best place for kids to be spending time on. However, I myself have come to love it too, its a great new website that introduces kids social networking and making friends on-line!
I have not yet come across a bad aspect of Club Penguin as for the first few days I was wary to let them free to browse on it, however I have not yet come across someone that has not been genuine and friendly! Which is finally great for a social networking site, the workers behind this site have got of to a great start!
Great graphics and fun activities to do, for example, dancing, little computer games, that actually as far as I am concerned build up kids intelligence, but best of all, the social networking. Its like no website of today, very friendly people!
The game as far as I am aware is not addictive as there is not too much development like many other social networking sites. For example, you can complete activities and build friends, but there is not the constant feeling of trying to better your little Penguin, I think this is a great aspect of the site as it means my kids are constantly wanting to stay on all night on Club Penguin.

Bad Points

However, like most sites on the net they have the potential to get spoilt by certain individuals that can sometimes post content that I personally would not want my kids to see. At this point in time it has not happened yet, therefore I suppose this is not yet a bad point. But for anyone like me, the worry is self-explanatory, therefore I suppose this is not a bad point about Club Penguin as in my opinion every parent should feel like this about letting their children free on social networking site.
Club Penguin as far as I am concerned does not yet have any negative points to make on it, which Is great!

General Comments

I would honestly recommend any Parent that wants their kids to make friends online and get involved with social networking to use Club Penguin over any other site.
I understand the inevitable worry, however I would advise to just chat to your children about any weird content that they might read and come straight to you... and for the first few days sit with them and see how it goes (great for spending time with them as). I personally have not experienced any bad language or rude suggestion's from other users on Club Penguin yet so this is a very good point as in my opinion there are many sites out there that have been spoilt by bullying, rejection, rudeness...
The intentions of the site are great, to get kids to learn about the world of avatars and social networking, to think of lots of children sitting at the computer making friends in my opinion is a great idea!
I think the reason why Club Penguin works so well is due to the human monitors/moderators that are watching, kids can use certain options to report anything that they feel is not supposed to be exposed.
I personally am on the free membership and although your kids might nag you to pay so they can upgrade your character, I would not advise this as in my opinion one of the great aspects of the site is due to it not being addictive.
There is a "Parents Guide" section that helped me navigate around the site and get a feel of what my children might be experiencing, I would recommend this tool to use on Club Penguin.
There is a strong underlining role of Club Penguin that seems to imply Club Penguin are going to start a whole new Internet safety in social networking. I think if they was to proceed with this, it would be amazing, just the idea of letting children browse on the internet without having rude language thrown at them in seconds makes me excited.
Therefore due to my experience's and opinion's I would recommend Club Penguin to anyone, but be safe and careful by sitting with your kids and getting a proper feel for the site. However, at the moment I have no problems with it!

I found this review unhelpful because...I really don't see why any parent would WANT their child to get involved with social networking. That should be done with real people face to face, whilst playing and exercising. Social Networking, on any site, is far too risky in my opinion. If "bad people" looked or sounded like "bad people" when they were on site we would all know... the point is that they are VERY good at pretending to be of no risk.
