I found the book extremley enlightening covering a multitude of subjects

Actually none...anyone who tells you to think for yourself and check out everthing that they have written is worth while read.

I found the book extremley enlightening and to say it based on lies and a misunderstanding of scripture would itself be an untrue. Yes the book covers many subjects brilliantly and not just the rapture. To say it opinionated and thereby false is to suggest that all books writen in favor of the rapture in like manner are somehow not opinionated and trueful like books by Hal Lindsey is simply ridiculous. As far as thinking a man of God must disclose who he is in his writings is again silly..as mr. Crux points out only those who wish to attact the person inorder to diminish the work and steer people away from whats the book offers care...what matters is the informational study that it offers...not the person. I found the opposing review to be weak and a typical response by a confirmed rapture believer that fears anything such as this book that is in opposition to their position on the matter. It is a great book I highly recommend. Don't allow others to deceide if you you should read it or not...as Mr. Crux would say "think for yourself" Obviously neither my recommendation or a non-recommendation matters, if you have an interest in the subject and the overall Bible then read it and be your own judge on what you will accept or reject as fact or fiction.
