Poor quality shave, the cleaning solution stinks

I was given this for Christmas and I hate it. It is the worst electric rasor I have ever used in my life.

It looks nice and I was quite pleased when I opened my present, however, after using it a few times, I've now had to admit to my girlfriend that I hate her present, as even this is a better option than using the thing everyday to shave with (and I can assure you I don't do this lightly, I have a very bad jumper that I still wear rather than tell her I don't like it, but I cannot use the Braun 5895 to shave with, I'd rather have a beard and I hate beards).

Let me begin as to why this is such a bad product. Now please bear in mind that I'm not a very hairy person with lots of stubble and can get away without having a shave for a couple of days.

The shave is very poor and it takes ages even for me to remove the stubble and then on the occasions I have used it, I normally end up in the bathroom for a wet shave to do the job properly, which takes a fraction of the time of the Braun Contour 5895.

The automatic cleaning mechanism. Every time you shave it cleans itself, which at first I thought this was a neat idea, it isn't. More often than not, before you have finished shaving, it cuts out, telling you to clean it again, so you have to put it back in the stand which has the cleaning unit. It does it about 3 times (don't put it anywhere near your TV or telephone as it's very noisy), but then it is all wet and covered in some alcohol cleaning fluid, so unless you wait a few hours, this then goes over your face, and even then you can smell it even if you've left it for 24 hours. i was getting high when I was shaving the mustache area under my nose, like shaving and sniffing a bottle of amyl nitrate.

I've only used it a few times, and I see the cleaning solution is half empty, so it's obviously a scam by Braun to get people to buy more cleaning solution, though I cannot imagine that anyone who was unfortunate to own one of the would ever buy more cleaning solution and continue daily suffering by using this to shave every day, rather than save a lot of time and effort to use either a Gillette Mac3 or buy a different decent electric shaver.

So unless you don't mind having a horrible alcohol cleaning solution smeared on your face to get a very very poor quality shave that leaves you smelling like you've put on the cheapest aftershave in the world ... DO NOT BUY THE BRAUN CONTOUR 5895 - OFFICIALLY THE WORST ELECTRIC RASOR IN THE WORLD!
