Good Points

The premium was very reasonable for the cover they provided


Bad Points

1. Watch out for the premium adjustments if you get any penalty points.
2. Their legal protection arm (Albany Assistance) is a total waste of time.


General Comments

1. I had a clean licence but got caught doing 38 in a 30 zone and got a £60 fine and three points. I advised Bell (this was 4 months into policy) and then got a letter that due to the penalty points my premium was being adjusted and they were going to take £138 from my credit card, this was a 40% loading on my premium. When I contacted them they were so unfriendly and basically just said leave when your insurance comes up for renewal.

2. Had 9 years no claims bonus and then get hit by a coach on the rear quarter of my car as |I was going round a roundabout.. Went to Albany to get my losses back as it was the coach drivers fault. It took them 4 months just to get the insurance details from the third party, then 2 months later the 3rd party wants to claim against me states that they have a witness saying I cut them up, at the time of the accident there was no 3rd party witness but Bell take coach drivers side totally without questioning this witness, just takes a signed statement with no questions at all and this so called independent witness turns up six months after the accident.
