Good Points

This is a sturdy vehicle. I rolled my first 2000 explorer, over another car and it flipped several times more. in my seat belt, my injuries were minor. both vehicles were totaled, but my car only had minor body damage and the other car was completely flattened; it popped like a soda can. I immediately bought another explorer, same year model etc. I am convinced that vehicle saved my life.


Bad Points

Bad on hills with snow or ice, despite good tires. seems to have all its weight in front. I live in Maine and we have lots of snow. It will go up hill on a sheet of ice without problem. But with a little advance planning, it is great even in snow and ice.


General Comments

I have had my second explorer for six months now. can't comment on maintenance, because other than oil changes, it hasn't needed anything.
