My advice stay with the AMX Green Card.


General Comments

American Express Platinum Companion Tickets ? Not the bargain you think it is.

I tried to book a companion ticket for my wife to a Caribbean or Mexican destination. When I called the American Express Companion Ticket office, I was told they only fly to certain destinations and you have to fly from a very limited number of airports to these destinations. It was very disappointing.and another thing, try to use the Airport Clubs, most of them do not have an agreement with American Express.

My advice stay with the Basic Green Card, the advantages are not worth the extra yearly fee for the Platinum Card. American Express is going to have to expand their agreements with the Airlines or drop the companion ticket privileges. Believe me it is not a privilege to use the American Express Card for these features.

    I have this card and I can only disagree. American Express as a company is the best. The Platinum card is well worth the annual fee. It has a long list of benefits and whenever I have had an issue, AMEX was more the helpful. I have 2, Platinum and Platinum for business. This is the card if you qualify.
