Outstanding 50mm 1.7 lens
Lightweight body, smaller than many manual 35mm SLRs
Large, bright viewfinder
Mechanical operation, not battery dependent, except for meter
Bargain price
Body not professional build
Meter not especially durable(on mine, anyway)
I bought the Vivitar V3000 camera and lens as a kit in 1995 for $150 new as a learning tool and it served that function very well until I upgraded to a canon A-1; if you find this camera with the excellent Vivitar 50mm 1.7,
don't hesitate to buy, as you'll be more than satisfied with this sharp, contrasty, low light lens for the money.
