Good Points

It's a beauty. And now there's a Vespa with the performance to truly match the looks. The details are unmatched in the entire scooter market. Everything from the beautifully distressed detailed seat to the purr of the engine. It really is the Mercedes of scooters. With the classic beauty that only very few icons can claim. Just like the Porsche 911, while it's always being updated, on first sight you know what it is. And the monocoque gives the best feel of any scooter on the market. It is clearly a superior ride to any framed and fendered 2-wheeler.

Bad Points

I suppose you could say price as many would. But remember that with Vespa you're buying something you'll give to your kids in 20 years. And also remember that thanks to our wonderful President and his uncanny fiscal policy, he's managed to give our once revered Dollar a Peso-like quality. So it's not the bike that's expensive, it's your dollar that's cheap. And just like your grandfather used to tell you...."you get what you pay for". Not to mention the fact that the Vespa gives you state of the art mechanics, design and ergonomics. The competition does not!! And you'll have a bike made by a developed nation's workforce. So if you think it's overpriced, just remember that your Asian Scoot was made by "underpriced" labor. You're not overpaying for the Vespa, you're underpaying for the competition.

General Comments

Overall the Vespa GTS 250 is the best bike in this category with the street cred to boot. And it's only competition are its cousins at Aprilla & Piaggio. There's no bad decision between any of the 250s from Piaggio. But if you're the guy (or gal) that likes Mercedes & BMW over Kia & Toyota, then this is a simple decision. You might find a quality machine from Honda or Yamaha. They may even be a few bucks less. But in 10 years from now, only the Vespa GTS will still be relevant.
