Easy to setup*, loads of radio stations - always being updated - plus the ability to stream audio from a PC. It has a basic alarm clock feature (1 alarm) plus a sleep timer. Oh, and there's no need to set the time - this unit does it automatically via the internet
If you sign up to the Reciva website (free of charge) then once you have registered your radio, you can add radio stations to your "favourites" list, and this list automatically will appear on your radio.
But the best bit is - it's hackable! With a firmware hack, you can add extra alarms so you can have one alarm for weekdays, one for Sundays etc., you can add a station history list so that you can scan for your last listened to stations. Some older firmware versions do not connect to some wireless access points - however, it is upgradeable. The power unit inside is right behind the speaker - this causes the unit to hum, but it can be relocate elsewhere inside the case. The wireless signal can be quite poor - again this is down to the location of the wireless USB dongle (very near to another board inside the unit) - however, again - you can take the USB wireless dongle out and attach it to a USB extender cable. I like the IR100 - in fact I've bought a second unit for the kitchen, and I'll probably buy another couple for other rooms in the house. Out of the box, the unit is easy to set up and use, but you'll get better performance by upgrading the firmware (see http://sharpfin.zevv.nl) and perhaps by modifying the hardware - it's not difficult but would have been better if the manufacturers had worked out these minor design flaws previously.
