Sell unconfirmed air tickets.


General Comments

I booked a flight from Mumbai, India to Shanghai, China through Singapore. I was able to book online and paid for that ticket. The status is "Confirmed" when I booked it. Then after 30 seconds, I wanted to make sure about the date and looked it up in "My Trips". I only saw the flight from Mumbai to Singapore, the next part is gone. The title of this trip is also changed (By Cheaptickets.com) to "Singapore 02/11/2008". So I called their customer service, and was told the flight from Singapore to Shanghai can't be confirmed and I was on the waiting list. What the hell was that? If I can't get a seat, I will be stuck at Singapore. They asked me if I wanted to cancel the reservation and I said yes. They then told me that they can only refund the airfare, the "Service fee" ($6.99) and the "Paper ticket processing fee" ($23.95) are not refundable. It is their fault, not mine. I said "NO, you have to refund me the whole amount, that's not fair". She told me that's what I agreed when I paid for the ticket. After some arguing and waiting (maybe she talked to a manager or something), she finally refunded the "Paper ticket processing fee", but not the "Service fee". She asked if I wanted to book a new ticket with them, I said "NEVER".

They let you book unconfirmed ticket but will never tell you about that. I will absolutely avoid their service in the future.
