Good Points

The designer gave some good ideas in relation to changing the layout of our bathroom. Also, the 3 dimensional image of the bathroom they would install was impressive. The discounts they offer seem impressive (i.e. 50% in January on all bathrooms, with an extra 10% off that weekend etc (or to that effect).


Bad Points

The designer didn't ask if we were interested in any particular suites from their catalogue. He chose the suite and gave no consideration to what we actually wanted.


General Comments

The designer seem very professional and the discounts the sales staff spouted seemed very good. However, the top line price that they then discount is astronomically stupid price. We were quoted [get ready] £25000.00 for a new suite (and shower), half tiled walls, tiled floors, a new radiator and light fittings. This was NOT for an elaborate bathroom, with whirl pools baths and water fall bath taps and the like, it was for a basic suite with an acrylic bath. I new they were going to be expensive because of the service they state you will get (we had previous experience with a sister company called Moben who were excellent , but expensive). I have been a Quantity Surveyor in the building industry for over 12 years and have a fair knowledge of the works they stated would be done and also have a background in estimating many elements in this industry. And my conservative estimate was less than £9000.00 before taking the stated discounts off leaving a cost more in the region of £4000.00. In my opinion the discounts they offer are pointless as they are only relative to the initial top line figure. I have decided not to go with Dolphin but would say that the experience was worth while, as the designer had given us several ideas that we had not even considered possible.

    I found this review helpful because... it gives me an insight into Dolphin, and they appear to be a firm to avoid due to high prices and poor customer services.
