General Comments
Initially pleased with the Baumatic BHD6/1 although being fully integrated it was difficult to install as the rear legs are difficult to reach to wind up or down. However over the course of 30 months both of the mechanisms that connect the door to the counterbalance springs have failed. The effect is similar to a hand grenade going off under the worktop. The cause of the failure in both cases is a piece of string with moulded plastic connectors at either end. Baumatic insist that you replace the hinge at the same time as it comes as an assembly at 38 quid a time. The Baumatic parts line is inefficient & do not follow up to correctly identify any parts required if you are lucky enough to get through the automated telephone queue. The drain pump is now noisy but has been like this for the past 12 months without failing. Otherwise it's efficient & does a good job. It's just the build quality & aftersales support that let it down.
